1.21.5 Copper Age

The Copper Age release expands copper into a full building and mechanics update.

What changed

• Copper golems return as an optional village mob — they press buttons and open doors when given copper ingots, useful for redstone clocks.
• New copper block variants: chiseled, pillar and door/trapdoor recipes round out the family.
• Patina acceleration: copper exposed to water oxidizes ~25% faster; honey slows it.
• Trial chambers loot table updated with copper gear and new books.

Impact on your world

• Copper farms (drowned drops) are unchanged — the ore distribution from 1.21 still applies.
• Villager-based iron farms are unaffected; copper golems do not compete with the golem spawn cap.
